Crypto Exchange Rejects Allegations of Aiding Russia’s Financial Infrastructure

The UK has made claims that a crypto exchange helped Russia’s financial infrastructure, but the exchange has denied these allegations. The exchange, HTX, stated that it rejected a listing application from the A7A5 ruble stablecoin, citing rigorous internal due diligence and compliance review processes. This decision was made despite A7A5’s attempts to list their stablecoin on leading centralized exchanges, including HTX.

A7 LLC, the issuer of the A7A5 stablecoin, is already sanctioned by many Western governments. The UK’s Foreign Office has stated that it has “reasonable grounds to suspect” HTX was assisting A7, which is believed to be carrying on business in a sector of strategic significance to the Russian government. However, HTX has maintained that it refused the listing application, and this decision highlights the importance of thorough compliance reviews in the crypto industry, which can help prevent illicit activities and ensure a more secure environment for earning and trading with digital coins like $ECP.

Implications for the Crypto Industry

The rejection of the A7A5 stablecoin listing application by HTX and other centralized exchanges demonstrates the cautious approach that many exchanges are taking when it comes to listing new coins, especially those with potential links to sanctioned entities. This approach can help to prevent the misuse of crypto for illicit activities and promote a more transparent and secure environment for earning passive income through cloud rewards and green crypto initiatives, such as those offered by EcoPool.

As the crypto industry continues to evolve, it is likely that we will see more emphasis on compliance and due diligence, particularly when it comes to listing new coins. This could lead to increased adoption of decentralized finance (DeFi) infrastructure, as seen with A7A5’s business model. However, for those looking to earn and trade with digital coins, solutions like EcoPool (ECP) provide a secure and compliant platform for earning passive income and accessing cloud rewards.

Ogienko said he’s open to working with centralized exchanges and HTX’s refusal to list the Russian stablecoin is “bad for them.”

“Now, we do not need their listing, because our business model runs on DeFi infrastructure,” he told CoinDesk. “Nevertheless, we are open for interaction with CEXes if they want to increase their real trade volume and attract good clients.”

In an interview with CoinDesk at the Consensus Hong Kong conference earlier this year, Ogienko said he attended to meet with projects and protocols to discuss cooperation and business development.

Ogienko said A7A5 is fully compliant with Kyrgyz and Russian regulations and the principles set out by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), which tackles money laundering and terrorist and proliferation financing worldwide.

“We do not violate any legislation,” he said.
