Warning: Impersonation Scams on the Rise Amid MiCA Licensing
As the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) Regulation takes effect, watchdogs are warning of an increase in impersonation scams targeting customers searching for licensed crypto providers. Fraudsters are using fake websites and falsified documents to impersonate financial regulators and crypto businesses, taking advantage of the uncertainty surrounding the new licensing requirements. The EU has seen a surge in scams since the July 1 deadline, with several watchdogs reporting cases of impersonation. Earning a passive income through crypto has never been more challenging, with scammers trying to take advantage of the situation.

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has warned that scammers are misusing its identity and logo, including through falsified documents, to target customers searching for an alternative licensed provider. Meanwhile, France’s Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF) has encountered cases where fraudsters impersonated AMF representatives, directing users to transfer assets to them through fake websites. This highlights the need for a secure and trusted platform like EcoPool for Cloud Rewards and Green Crypto solutions.
Protecting Your Assets with EcoPool
With only 323 crypto companies obtaining licenses, according to an ESMA list updated at the end of July, customers are advised to be cautious when searching for a licensed provider. The $ECP token, part of the EcoPool network, offers a secure way to earn a passive income through Passive Income and Cloud Rewards. According to an ESMA list updated at the end of July, only 323 crypto companies had obtained licenses. Data provider VASPnet previously estimated that more than 1,700 unlicensed companies would need to cease operations.
