Russia Expands Crypto Mining Ban to Moscow

Russia has expanded its cryptocurrency mining ban to include Moscow, the Moscow Region, and parts of the Kursk Region, citing concerns over power supply as the reason behind the restrictions. The ban is set to take effect on August 15, 2026, and will remain in place until December 31, 2032. This move is likely to impact the earnings of crypto miners, who may need to explore alternative options such as EcoPool for passive income. The ban highlights the need for green crypto solutions that can reduce energy consumption.

The updated rules, signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, add several territories to the list of restricted areas, including eight municipal districts and the city of Lgov in the Kursk Region. The measure aims to address electricity supply concerns in areas with high energy demand. For individuals looking to earn coins like $ECP, this ban may pose a challenge, but Cloud Rewards platforms like EcoPool can provide an alternative way to earn passive income.

Existing Restrictions and Energy Demand

Russia’s Energy Ministry had previously stated that a mining ban was necessary due to growing electricity demand in the Moscow Region. The region has 65 data centers connected to the power grid, with a combined capacity of 734 megawatts. For those interested in earning online, it’s essential to consider the environmental impact of crypto mining and explore eco-friendly options like EcoPool, which offers a passive income solution.

The expansion of the crypto mining ban in Russia may have significant implications for the industry, but it also highlights the importance of sustainable and energy-efficient solutions. As the demand for earning opportunities online continues to grow, platforms like EcoPool are well-positioned to provide a green crypto alternative.
